About LOAM
Founded in 2009, Live Oak Alliance Mississippi (LOAM) is a comprehensive, countywide green initiative that is an economic development plan for Hancock County, Mississippi, in its rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Katrina. Working through existing civic organizations, LOAM's goal is to build a thriving sustainable community that fosters both economic prosperity and an exceptional quality of life. The organization foresees a community that welcomes new businesses while embracing its history and seeking progressive answers to challenges in education, art, economy and recreation.
In its approach to economic development, LOAM seeks to enhance and build upon the Hancock County's unique assets: extraordinary natural resources and beauty, temperate climate, historical character, national reputation as an arts community, as well as proximity to Stennis Space Center and two major cities, New Orleans and Gulfport.
LOAM
is a fund of the Hancock Community Development Foundation, a 501c3
non profit charity, and the donation less benefits received is tax
